VITALITY HEALTH SOLUTIONS (VHS)

WHAT IS VHS

Vitality Health Solutions is a global company that specializes in providing wellness systems to other companies, enabling them to promote the well-being of their employees.

The Vitality app serves as a member-facing platform where users (the employees of the client company) can actively engage in their wellness journey. Within the app, users have the ability to set personal goals, track their progress, complete wellness assessments, access their health results, explore company benefits, and participate in challenges set by their employer.

Supporting the member-facing application is the Client Portal, a system designed to empower companies in managing their employees' experience on the app. Through the portal, employers have the authority to define what their employees can see and do within the app. This includes setting goals, creating assessments, uploading relevant information about company benefits, and establishing challenges for their employees.

The Client Portal operates on a role-based system, wherein different tiers of users have varying levels of access and capabilities. Employers are able to manage the experience their employees have within the app, while Vitality staff possess additional functionalities and permissions to perform various actions in support of the overall system.
 

THE CONCEPT

The primary objective of the project was to undertake a comprehensive transformation of the Vitality Health Solutions (VHS) system, driven by the goal of delivering an enhanced user experience that aligns more effectively with user needs. In my role, I contributed to three key aspects of this revamp:

Sales Prototypes

While the application was being developed, the sales team required an effective means of showcasing the new application to clients, in order to garner their support and adoption of the upgraded system. I was responsible for developing functional prototypes tailored to each client's branding, enabling the sales team to effectively demonstrate the value proposition of the new product.

Client Portal

Another crucial component of the system revamp was the complete redesign of the internal Client Portal. This undertaking involved a comprehensive overhaul of the existing system, aiming to improve its functionality and user experience.

Vitality 3.0 App

As part of the system revamp, the Vitality application underwent a significant redesign to improve user experience and update the overall visual aesthetics. In addition, new requirements necessitated the creation of fresh designs to accommodate the evolving needs of the application.

Throughout these endeavors, our collective efforts were dedicated to rejuvenating the VHS system, ensuring that it not only met but exceeded the expectations of its users, clients, and stakeholders.

SALES PROTOTYPES

My primary focus revolved around creating numerous client prototypes for the sales team. These prototypes were meticulously tailored to each specific client, ensuring that every prototype boasted a unique color scheme, content, and necessary images. The aim was to deliver a personalized experience that resonated with each client's brand identity and requirements

CLIENT PORTAL

As one of three designers involved in the redesign of the Client Portal, my role on the team encompassed supervising and providing guidance to a junior designer. While I participated in some of the actual design work, my primary focus was to ensure the junior designer met their deadlines and consistently delivered high-quality work. I placed a strong emphasis on upskilling the designer, guiding them to become a proficient component designer who eventually took over the project independently.

 

The project necessitated a close working relationship with the project owners, as gathering requirements proved challenging due to the ever-shifting nature of the project. Flexibility and adaptability were key in successfully managing these changing requirements.

By the time I concluded my involvement in the project, our team had achieved a smooth workflow and consistently delivered high-quality results that left stakeholders satisfied. The collective efforts and dedication resulted in a successful outcome that met the project objectives and made a positive impact.

VITALITY 3.0 APP

I was one of 10 designers on the Vitality 3.0 app design. In this area of the project, I was focused on animations and incorporating the concept of gamification into the app. 

 

The app is an employee wellness program and one of the primary focus of the app is to motivate users to improve their wellness. Activities are shown on the app that the users can complete to improve their overall wellness. In order to motivate the user to complete these activities the product has many creative ways to achieve this. 

 

My primary aim for the animations was to create a feeling of achievement for the user and to help the user feel more motivated to complete activities. This meant that the animations needed to make the user feel good when looking at them. Some examples include:

Error page

The concept behind the error page aimed to transform the typically frustrating user experience associated with encountering errors into a more positive and engaging encounter. By incorporating an animated element that evokes a sense of joy, our intention was to enhance the user journey, mitigating the potential frustration caused by the page's malfunction.
